Serenity Wedding Gown

It’s been a while and I am sorry about that people of my blog! I have been busy beavering away making a new collection of wedding dresses. No excuse I know but I hope these photos of my new tulle gown will cheer you up 🙂

The design for this dress has been in my mind for a long time and it’s finally been released into reality! The bodice is pretty hardcore with 4 layers of foundation, linings and the fashion fabric. Fully boned with a waist stay to keep everything in place.

The sweetheart bodice was painstakingly hand draped with tulle in two different colors. As a self confessed perfectionist it took me quite a while to get the draping just the way I like it but I think my time was well worth it!

Buttons were a fiddly option for a closure that are tricky but they do add a touch a beauty to the back. I love added details and buttons are a classic detail. I covered the buttons in the same duchess satin as the bodice to make sure they were an exact match. If you ever plan on hand covering buttons beware your fingers will be sore for a few days afterwards!

Too much tulle just doesn’t exist! I added four layers in the two colors for the skirt. In the light the different colors look beautiful together. Under the tulle, I used gathered silk habatoi that is buttery soft and has the perfect amount of flow. What is more luxurious against the skin than pure silk?!

Enough talking! Here are the photos. I would love to know what you think so comment away!

Thanks Jae! The buttons certainly tested my patience, but were worth it in the end 🙂
